✈️ Off Season Travel + The Three Best Travel Credit Cards

See which cards I have in my wallet

Hello Friends!

Today, we are diving deep into the world of off season travel (OST). 🤿

For us, traveling cheaply makes traveling itself more enjoyable because our money goes further! Yes, there is a time and place to splurge, bucket list trips can be worth it,  but if you’re looking to stretch your budget, traveling during the off season can get you so much more bang for your buck. Take a look at this Hyatt in Puerto Vallarta on season/off season rates:

And so OST is born:  Who is this for you ask? This is the traveler that plans ahead of time ideally about 9-12 months in advance, finding TONS of off season locations and knows how to stretch their budget using CC points and miles. Picture it with me:

  • Flights that aren’t at full capacity ✈️

  • Lines that last 2-10 minutes vs 2-4 hrs 🧑‍🤝‍🧑

  • Hotels that have special “off seasons” rates and more options for upgrades. 🏨

I’m telling you fellow roamers, I’ve let you in on a secret- be open to off season travel! (#OST) 🤯

This week I am featuring Europe as the OST destination. Off season in Europe is November-March, with the exception of December due to the popularity of Christmas markets in some locations. This is a great time to bundle up and hit the streets to any and all of the most sought after cities! Check out this article for our take on the lounge—> New Capital One Venture X lounge at Dulles airport!

We had the pleasure of visiting the newly opened lounge when traveling to Europe recently. Capital One Venture X is a travel credit card that I highly recommend having in your wallet. For all the reasons why: The THREE Best Travel Credit Cards you should have in your wallet. With this credit card you and up to 2 guests get free access into this exclusive lounge allowing you to enjoy delicious FREE food, drinks and lounge chairs to ensure you are good and relaxed while waiting for your flight to board. This is a major credit card perk!

The lounge opened just this year at Dulles International Airport (IAD). There is another Capital One lounge in the Denver International Airport (DEN) and one in the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). We were blown away by the food, drinks, space and take out food section. We probably saved $50-$100 on dinner and snacks that we would of had to buy before our flight.
